15th Annual Event
In 2007 the Local Agricultural Farmers Association namely Barkly East & Clifford, organised this event and what a sucesss it was! Without the riders supporting this event, it would not be a success and therefore thanks to all for attending in the previous years and hope to see you all in 2021!
The Local Agricultural Associations and farmers allow riders to ride over more than 20 private farms. GPS tracks will be downloaded onto team's GPS's at the start of the challenge.
The base is the Clifford Club (S31 04.916 E27 26.901), 28km's from the town of Barkly East. The events starts on Thursday, 4th March 2021 at 12h00. Each team will supply their own fuel, spares, tents, sleeping bags etc. "Proper" brunches and suppers will be provided by the very friendly local farmers (who are all very much a part of this event). Teams should bring their own snacks in bumbags for snacks on the route. Drinks are available from the clubhouse bar at very reasonable prices.
Accommodation is mainly camping in a lovely pine forest in a scenic mountain setting. Power points and lights are provided in the camping area. Decent ablution / shower facilities, a dining hall and marquee are available.
For the softer tastes there is the option of accommodation in local farm houses or B&B's. Limited space is available so you will need to be quick if you want to take this option.
